Me in 30 Seconds
If you are looking for a job, and a potential employer asks, "Tell me about yourself," you must be able to quickly and effectively respond. A "Me in 30 Seconds" statement contains the following:
- A short introduction that includes your name and career goal.
- A list of 2–3 specific accomplishments that show you are a good fit for a job.
- A list of 2–3 traits or skills that demonstrate your ability to get the job done.
If the person you are speaking to already knows your name, you can leave that part out. Keep your name at the beginning of the statement when you practice.
Me in 30 Seconds Example
"My name is Josh Smith and I am looking for a job in computer support. I have two years of experience and have earned several technical certifications. With my last company, I was the top service technician last year because of my efficiency. I love organizing projects, and I make it a point to complete each of them on time, if not early. I know I could bring added efficiency to your organization."
